Frequently Asked Questions

  • GBBS is built for kids ages 2-12, with the sweet spot landing squarely in the PreK through 2nd grade range -- though there's plenty for older kids too. For younger children, the content is intentionally rich in the things that work best at that age: beautifully illustrated stories, catchy songs with motions, hands-on crafts, and simple activities that don't require reading or sitting still for long. Nothing is too big or too complicated for a four-year-old to engage with meaningfully. For older kids in the 2nd through 5th grade range, every lesson includes deeper engagement -- scripture lookups, cross-referencing, simple apologetic-style questions, and creative challenges that respect their growing capacity without making them feel like they're doing the same thing as the little kids. One lesson, every age, nobody left out.

  • It depends on where you're teaching. At home, the core Story Time and conversation runs about 15 minutes -- then songs, games, and activities spread naturally throughout the week in small moments. In a classroom setting, a teacher can easily build a full 30-45 minute session by layering in the theme song, a read-along storybook time, the lesson discussion, a craft or game, and the memory verse song. The content is designed to flex—a tight 15-minute anchor lesson that can expand into a full class period depending on what you need that week.

  • Both, depending on how you use it.

As a complete program, GBBS gives you everything you need for one full school year—32 weeks, Creation to the early church. Classroom bundles include lesson materials, slides, media, and teacher guidance. It's a full plate, focused entirely on one thing: teaching kids the whole Bible story in sequence.

As a supplement, individual units and standalone story packs make it easy to drop GBBS content into an existing program—a seasonal series, extra midweek services, or a single lesson when you need one. Use what fits. Leave what doesn't!

  • A lot of children's ministry content is built around topical series—a four-week series on kindness, a series on courage, a series tied to the church calendar. Nothing wrong with that approach, but it leaves a significant gap: most kids never develop a foundational understanding of what the Bible actually is, how it holds together, or where they fit in the story it tells.

GBBS takes a different approach entirely. Every unit is a stepping stone in one continuous narrative: In the Beginning leads to God's Chosen People, which leads to Heroes and Kings, which leads to The Promised One, and so on all the way through to Spread the Word. Each unit builds on the last. By the end of the year kids don't just know individual stories—they understand the whole plot, how every story connects, and that it's all one great big story about Jesus. That's Biblical literacy. And it's increasingly rare.

  • The GBBS music isn't background content—it's one of the most powerful teaching tools in the whole program. The full album follows the exact narrative arc of the curriculum, from Days of Creation all the way through the early church. A kid who listens to this album start to finish is essentially hearing the whole Bible story in song—in sequence, in order, connected from beginning to end.

The Musical Memory Verse songs take it further. Each unit's memory verse is set to an original song with motions, available on Spotify and YouTube. Most kids have the verse memorized within two weeks without ever sitting down to study it. Classical Conversations families will recognize this immediately—t's the same principle, applied to Scripture.

  • Every lesson is rooted directly in Scripture and built on the conviction that the Bible tells one unified story—Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration—and that every story in it points to Jesus. We hold to the authority of Scripture and the historic Christian faith.

Scope & Sequence

The Bible isn't a collection of moral lessons. It's one great, big story—all about Jesus! GBBS teaches the whole Biblical narrative in sequence, so kids don't just know the characters. They know the plot. The scope and sequence lays out exactly how we get from Genesis to Acts in one year.
